The film stars Shahrukh Khan as Kabir Khan, a former hockey player and coach of the Indian national women’s hockey team. The film also features Sagarika Ghatge, Vidya Malvade, Shilpa Shukla, Anaitha Nair, and Nisha Millet in pivotal roles. 

The film follows the story of Khan, who is appointed as the coach of the Indian national women’s hockey team despite facing opposition from the hockey federation and the team’s players. He faces challenges in his attempt to revive the team’s fortunes and lead them to victory at the 2006 Hockey World Cup in England.

Chak de! India was a critical and commercial success, grossing over ₹1 billion (US$15 million) worldwide and becoming the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2007.
